My Twins 2010 inaugural series souvenir…. a rejection letter

The Minnesota Twins held a lottery to select prospective ticket buyers for the opening series of the 2010 season at Target Field. My wife and I each filled out one of these forms to get a chance at being selected. I could have flooded the registration process with many more registrations but I didn’t want to go that route. We were going to go with that slim, get lucky approach.

Well, luck didn’t go our way and this afternoon we both just received our rejection letter. Neither of us were selected for a chance at buying tickets for the opening series against the Boston Red Sox. I guess we will have to wait for a later game, or pony up for season tickets…… uh,….no…. I can’t swing that one.

Here’s the letter we got plus a screen grab image of it.

Dear Twins Fan,

Thank you for registering for a chance to purchase tickets to the Minnesota Twins Inaugural Opening Series vs. the Boston Red Sox. We were thrilled with the incredible amount of interest and the number of registrants. Unfortunately, your entry was not selected for this ticket purchase opportunity.

Even though you weren’t selected, it’s not too late! There are many season ticket plans available to choose from – including 20-game plans which start at just $10 per ticket, per game. Lock in your preferred seat location for this historic season and enjoy the many benefits available exclusively to Twins season ticket holders including access to the Metropolitan Club, Postseason priority and Pro Shop discounts.

Minnesota Twins 2010 inaugural series at Target Field rejection letter

pocket schedules with seating chart eye candy

Tonight my youngest son and I went to the Twins Pro Shop in Roseville to pick up tickets for this weekend’s Twins Fest. It was here I got my hands on a short stack of 2010 Twins pocket schedules. Yup, I’m a pocket schedule junkie, gotta get a few for me and a couple for the boys. Next trip will be the same too because I need a few to stash for safe keeping. You know, some for that organized portfolio of pocket schedules I’m going to put together someday… a guy can dream, right? Well, for now tossing them in a drawer will have to do.

This 2010 edition pocket schedule is special. It features a new seating chart, natural grass and a skyline. The seating chart is a wonder to my eyes. It’s not a round bowl. It’s got nooks and crannies, angles and oddities. I’m sure I’ll study it way too much. I look at these pocket schedules kinda like I do maps. I’m a bit of a kid about ‘em. Cheers gang, we’ve got a new seating chart.
